Tolkien
Fu un compagno di liceo, Carlo, che ora fa l'ingegnere alla Cisco, che mi allungó un day this massive tome of a thousand and so many pages, making sure that I would have loved it, provided you had the patience to overcome the first hundred pages. In fact, if I find fault with Tolkien, it is precisely this: the first chapters of almost all his works are definitely on Pallos. The Hobbit, in the early chapters, seems like a fairy tale. The Lord of the Rings lingers to talk about the hobbits and their bullshit, let alone in the first chapters of the Silmarillion, which resembles a cross between the Bible and the telephone directory.
I always thought that Tolkien was almost a kind of ordeal, a test for the true temper: the first resist, Pallos pages? Then you are worthy to continue.
Tolkien was a writer for decades considered "right" (not for nothing that the first gatherings of young fascists' s MSI were called "Hobbit Fields"). Indeed, if you read his writings, there are many concepts are not exactly progressive, for example, many of the characters are enhanced not only for their personal qualities, but also (and sometimes especially) for their offspring and their lineage. Peró Tolkien never wanted to use his work as a political or religious propaganda, but some maniac who saw Our Lady Galadriel or lembas a metaphor for the communion are always ...
The Lord of the Rings is a book complex, with more stories that are woven with a structured and consistent background mythology, an artificial language, Elvish, designed and developed in detail. Sure, some characters (Aragorn, for one) are a bit 'too stereotyped, but others, especially the main character Frodo, are painted with doubts, flaws, fears, and not as the heroes of one piece that they are never afraid and never wrong.
what about the story rather ambiguous, though covertly hidden between Frodo and his servant and companion Sam? In more than one passage is read between the lines that the so-called "friendship" between the two had to be something a little "different", that for example, is one of things that the film loses a little of Jackson.
Another thing to never forgive Jackson was to have removed Tom Bombadil. For those who know the book, Tom is a fantastic character. Equipped with incredible powers, do not take them seriously, but we play and we ride, turning somersaults, singing and collecting flowers for his lady Goldberry. Gandalf, Elrond, the Nazgul, and even the same fear the Ring and Sauron are tempted and drawn by its immense power and evil. And that is Tom Bombadil? Puts it on her finger and does not disappear, it tosses a coin, and sleight of hand makes us laugh ...
Other changes, however, as the arrival of the Elves at Helm's Deep, which was not in the original, the ho di più apprezzate, and cer scene, come l'last marcia degli Ent sleep davvero poetry.
Parler di Tolkien per ore, ma mi Restany Quindici minuti di vedere voglio break and if the Riesco riscrivere un altro del Pezzo fifth libro dell ' Iliade ...
